OK, let’s not only talk about sex – let’s talk about fertility and the changing age when people want to have babies. IVF became a common way to have babies, but often people are too old when they start trying to conceive with IVF. Martin Varsavsky, Founder of Prelude, talks about these changes, concerning people of higher age trying to conceive, homosexual couples with the wish for kids or other cases like this. Many things Prelude does are forbidden in Germany – but only there, because Germany is pretty backwards in these things, while most other countries allow them (e.g. donating eggs).
“I love children – but the problem is, when people can have babies, they often don’t want to. But when they want have babies – they can’t. And this is why this sector is so important.” Europe is actually ahead in births via IVF – but not in preservation choices, something Prelude tries to change.
