Health Care, quo vadis?

Now women reign the stage: Saskia Steinacker (Global Head of Digital Excellence of Bayer), Simone Menne (Supervisory Board Member of BMW, DPDHL) and Julie Teigland (Managing Partner EY GSA) discuss the future of health care. One of the major topics here is collecting the data of patients. Menne emphasizes: “As important as data is for curing patients, it is terrible to imagine it getting into the wrong hands.” The critical point, the diagnosis, can be made easier for the doctor, if there is technology comparing other diagnoses, states Steinacker: “Bring the trials to patient and not vice versa.”

Working together is here one of the most important things – especially working together of start-ups with bigger and more traditional companies. This offers start-ups the infrastructure and many experiences, but also big companies the velocity and drive of start-ups – and of course their new ideas. And even more, Menne emphasizes: “It is important, that people are not only treated when ill – no, that it is prevented that they don’t become ill.” This will change also the business models in health care - changing medicine altogether.
