Disaster preparedness has to be more inclusive and effective, as especially incidents like the 2021 summer floods in the Netherlands show. This workshop gives insights of the research project about evacuation information and more during the 2021 summer floods in Limburg. The workshop also looks at the results and what new possibilities arise to make disaster preparedness more inclusive. These speakers will discuss their ideas with the participants:

Beat the Heat in anticipation: shared lessons of heat wave analysis and action

Heat waves are one of the big challenges of the next years, especially because they are “silent killers” - what do you need to beat the heat? In the last years, more and more heatwaves have happened on all continents, but special corner stones can help to reduce their impacts. They can include activities before and during heat waves or weather and impact forecasts. This session offers different perspectives from different experts and fields. These are the key speakers:
