The vital role of data: Data is really important. One of the biggest barriers is that we have very limited understanding of how climate change is affecting women. Especially with donors, we don't necessarily have the data to support what we're saying - it's anecdotal. That's a key barrier that we're starting to overcome. Zonibel Woods,

Women reflect on climate leadership

What does women's climate leadership mean in the context of LLA?

Here are some of reflections from the participants in session 5.

Omaira Bolaños @OmaBoca
"Women are at the frontline of climate change - they are agents of change at all levels."

Chitembo Kawimbe Chunga @ChitemboAKC & @think2044
"Women are the most heavily affected by household impacts of climate change. If we leave women out of decision-making, then decisions will be made on their behalf - interventions that won't work."

Naseem Shaik @sspindia & @HuairouConnect
"Women are in charge of their own communities, and they do the organising. They have innovative practices in their community - for food security, safeguarding their families. We have to see women as equal partners in their communities."

Zonibel Woods @ClimateWomen
"If we look at women's climate leadership, that's four billion solutions. If we're looking to build resilience, women's leadership is essential."
