We stayed for two nights in one of the tree houses they built, complete with a rope-bridge and a terrace overlooking the forest. Every detail of urnatur was planned, inspired by some connection, deeper meaning, or a general aesthetic appeal.
As there was no electricity, the cooking was done over open fire. The sauna was classically heated by firewood, and if we needed light, well, beautifully crafted oil lamps were there for us. The ingredients we cooked with came directly from the garden, potatoes that I watched come out of the earth, kale and mangold, zucchinis and yellow squash, tomatoes, and dried mushrooms. We enjoyed the process of cooking, and could taste the freshness in every bite that resulted from it.
