We spent most of our time on or near the lake, switching from canoe to standup paddle board to simply floating around. A few other groups were there, all from Sweden, and all equally amazed by the experience.

On the last night Thimm and I managed to cook dinner before 10pm for once, a remarkable feat. After we had cleaned up and poured our wash water into the plants, Ulrika showed up to the outdoor kitchen. We spent the next 2 hours speaking about their ideals, the state of world with respect to nature and farming, and other general regenerative agriculture principles and ideologies. One thing that constantly stuck out, was her feeling that the generation from the 1950s onwards somehow lost the built-up agricultural wisdom of their ancestors, and now the younger generations are starting from scratch. Our connection to nature is being lost and the climate is in peril, spiraling a bit out of control, and if we aren’t careful, might just keep spinning faster and faster. Let’s hope that projects like theirs can inspire enough people to be more mindful about these topics.
