In this workshop, the attendees present three practical examples from the African continent on how anticipatory humanitarian action supports the fight against malnutrition and protects agricultural livelihoods. While sharing the same overall topic the projects differ in their target groups, methods and other points.

Jörg Mühlbach introduces the topics of today's workshop as well as the attendees.

In Namibia droughts are having the latest humanitarian footprint and causing problems in agriculture, nutrition and water supply. A big amount of the population are effected with about 52% of the Namibian population residing in rural areas with their livelihoods being dependent on farming.
