Dr. Broy describes a few of the challenges BMW/MINI is facing with the electrification.
E.g. in the US the implementation of an external sound system to create noise as a warning for pedestrians or the local production of the wiring harness in China due to local laws.
Another challenge ist the development for the high voltage batteries: „Each year we will see new batteries coming, with a different volume and different characteristics. So for each model we have to ensure that our customers/car services can only replace the batteries with one of a similar characteristic.“
