Billie – "the Klarna for B2Bs"

Matthias Knecht is the co-founder of Billie, an online lending business: „B2C transactions have turned into a smooth experience“, Knecht explains. Klarna and other providers have made the online shopping very smooth for customers and sellers alike. „But B2B is still stuck in the 90s with no service providers“ – except one: Billie.

Knecht presents two products that the company currently offers:
The first one is the Billie Factoring Platform: SMBs can upload their invoices on to the platform and „sell“ them Billie. The customer company gets the money immediately while Billie handles all the invoice management.

The other product is a Checkout Financing solution for B2B online shops. The Fintech company offers a Klarna-like experience where the B2B customers can decide when and how to pay while the seller get’s their money immediately.

So how does Billie perform? Knecht is quite proud about the company’s numbers: „We are among the fastest growing company in Europe.“ 2017 vs. 2018 Billie had a 900% YOY growth.
