The NOAH is not only about business - it is also about politics, especially about safe politics and elections- the base of a working democracy. „Scytl is an IT company who lead the digitization of elections“, explains Onno van Dommelen (VP Strategic Accounts & Partnerships). Their mission is tpo make elections more secure, more transparent and the whole process more efficient. "If you allow the use of smart phones, you will see a gradual increase in the participation."
Scytl was founded as a spin-off in 2001 from a university research group. The company holds many certificates and is well known. „But why/what is it, that we can’t vote with our mobile phone today?“, asks Marco Rodzynek. Online voting is a way to bring voting to more people - but it takes time, answers van Dommelen. Switzerland for example is currently preparing the Legislative framework and is therefore way ahead.
In some countries it can even be a question of life and death in providing easier and completely anonymous votings. In Kenia people were even killed when others found out who they voted for. "Embracing new technolgies is important", emphasizes also Rodzynek in this talk, "especially for politicians."
