The ultimate long-term goal of Kromberg & Schubert is the creation of a smart factory to build the future wire harness systems for the industry. In order to achieve this goal, Wiegel and his team have chosen technologies like robotics, AI, 3D printing that are combined, connected and enabled. Robotic and sensors are playing the major role in achieving this goal. Tasks like routing, pinning and taping could be done with robots, explains Wiegel. But in order to do it wisely Kromberg & Schubert is focussing on a human - machine approach.

What does WISE mean when it comes to automatization? „We don’t want to automize for all one is worth. We want to automize useful and with a strategy“, explains Wiegel.
Goal of any automatization must always be efficiency, traceability and most challenging the repeatability.
