Voting in Luxembourg is compulsory, although fines have not been enforced for many years. In the EU, only Belgium and Greece make it mandatory for citizens to vote. In the last legislative election in Greece in June this year, however, only 54% of voters turned out. Voter turnout in Luxembourg in 2018 was at just under 90%.
