Luxembourg voters on Sunday booted out the current coalition government. The Luxembourg Times will continue its election coverage in the coming days. This closes our live blog for 8 October.
Despite voting in Luxembourg being compulsory, voter turnout was down this year compared to 2018. While at the last parliamentary election, 90% of voters headed to the polls, this was down to 87% on Sunday. In theory, people skipping voting can be fined but this law has not been enforced for decades.
