Climate change not only leads to material loss, as Zattler emphasizes, but immaterial loss has to be seen, too. “It is about scaling up protection and in particular making the reaction more coherent and more consistent and more comprehensive. We want to have a kind of systematic approach with regard to those types of risks that we are focusing on.”
Zattler wants to bring all partners on board and he wants to use all kinds of instruments, like insurance. “Then we will come and build a shield country by country - and of course the country will always be in the lead.” One example is soil: Farmers might leave if there is no chance of survival, but giving them seeds for the next season will help them to stay.
