Dr Haseeb Md. Irfanullah, an independent consultant on environment, climate change, and research systems, spoke about the importance of access to vital resources.
He said: "What we’ve seen today is that each intervention is linked to one or more principles for locally led adaptation. We’ve talked about resources and climate change, specifically how water resources are scarce and of less quality.
"The application of the principles has improved the resources, enhanced the skills of local people to adopt new technology and how people get together to prioritise actions to meet everyone’s demands.
"But more importantly, we often don’t see marginalised communities exert their rights over resources. The LLA principles have helped us help communities."
