Balaji Gopalan - Principal Solutions Architect, AWS

Balaji Gopalan is a Principal Solutions Architect at Amazon Web Services, guiding the customer building of highly secure, operationally efficient, reliable, performant, and cost-efficient applications on the cloud.

As an active member of the EDM Council’s Cloud Management Capabilities working group, he is helping define best practices for cloud data management.

Balaji brings over 20 years of financial services experience, working at both the buy side (at a Quant Hedge fund) and the sell side (Morgan Stanley), where he focused on electronic trading, algorithmic trading, and data and analytics across Equities and Fixed Income divisions.

Balaji holds a Master’s in Computer Science from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Computer Science from Madras University.

Sead Pašalić - Chief Product Owner for Group BI Infrastructure, Swedbank

For the past two decades Sead has worked in the areas of business intelligence (systems), service management, and data warehousing from all aspects including development, architecture and modelling, requirements, information management, and governance; and as a lead for some of the major transformation programs in the Nordic area. 

He has been a change driver, helping Swedbank simplify its analytic ecosystem, while at the same time extending capabilities to drive business value.

Sead’s current focus is to provide infrastructure and operational capability support as Swedbank implements its silo-consolidating data strategy.

Peter leads the Bank of England's work to make the best use of data and analytics. He joined the bank as a senior economist, working on prudential regulation policy and economic and financial research.

Previously he worked as a strategy and regulatory consultant to telecom companies around the world.
