Our hike followed the river upwards, and eventually we realized, after crossing a tempting bridge that wasn’t necessarily on our route, that we had to now cross BACK OVER the river. Only, the river was pretty large. We walked alongside it as long as possible, eventually the ground became so soft that we went barefoot. Yet – no matter have far we walked, we did not find a crossing, and the one spot that our map showed to be a crossing was, in fact, just water. So, we did what we had to do and tried to cross this fast ice-cold river without falling into it.
With a few wobbles here and there, and a truly cold foot bath, we made it!
