This completes our celebration to mark the 100th birthday of pioneering thinker Egon Bahr and the fifth Egon Bahr Symposium, hosted by the Friedrich Ebert Foundation and the Willy Brandt Kreis. All of our many guests and speakers shared exciting insights into Egon Bahr's ideas and their relevance in today's geopolitical situation. All of the organizers of the past two days' events are now greatly looking forward to the next Egon Bahr Symposium. -fw

"We wanted the event to help ensure that Egon is not forgotten," says Willy Brandt Kreis chairwoman Heidemarie Wieczorek-Zeul as she makes her closing remarks. In her review of the conference, she recalls comments made by Lars Klingbeil calling for foreign policy to become a topic that is addressed by the wider public. The Willy Brandt Kreis "promises to take this challenge in hand," she says. She also expressed her appreciation to the team that organized the 5th Egon Bahr Symposium. "Thank you very much.
