Adaption and resilience are the two most important parts for Mituzori. “These topics are really gaining force”, emphasizes Mituzori. “Countries like Germany are strongly working on them, and that is so important.” Mitigation for example has also to do with climate change, and that makes it crucial to have a close look, says Kofler. “The experience of so many humanitarian workers have to come in”, explains Kofler. “If they bring in their experience, they can help that less people will suffer.” Continuous work is also key here, and Nkhoma adds that the funding is important for a country like his to create better ways of reaction.
“Bringing all our experience together, with quantity and quality of funding and data, with listening to the local voices, we can step huge step forward”, finishes Aalst, “but the journey is still going on, for a long time.”
