„The simulation with DYMOLA is not identical with real measurements", states Mr. Bierwirth. „We’re leaving out the thermal factor and hence can’t rely on the results for the temporal behavior. But the simulation will give us a good impression about the max peaks we can expect.“
The simulation is a good tool to see the impact of short circuits on other components regarding voltage drops and peaks.
It helps to reduce testing in early stages and allows to design future architectures based on existing models. Thereby the simulation approach saves time and costs in a development process.
