The session included an experienced lineup of speakers sharing their insights on the early stages of interagency collaboration in southern Africa. They focused on linking forecast-based actions with national safety nets and the overall social protection system in different countries. The session informed about how shock responsive social protection has been contributing to further enhancing anticipatory action in southern African countries like Mozambique, Lesotho, Namibia, Eswatini and South Africa. Experiences from Lesotho and Eswatini highlighted the need for transparency while communicating with national and international actors and improving advocacy efforts, harmonizing databases, and updating it regularly in order to improve efficiency in times of crises and reaching out to those who are most in need.
