Mr Raihanul Haque from CARE Bangladesh & RIMES showcases the SUFAL (Supporting flood forecast based Early Action and Learning) Flood Early Warning Matrix used in Bangladesh. Different forecast products for monsoon floods are combined with a threshold-based trigger model using on the observed water level and the forecasted trend of water level. In a next step, both variables are used in a matrix to define early actions for each scenario.
