Ms Moe Thida Win from Myanmar Red Cross Society presented the Feasibility Study conducted in 2020. The study represents an early but crucial step in the process of forecast-based financing. It is a very useful tool to bring partners onboard at the early stage and helps to define the steps actions how to go forward in a joint effort. One of the main issues the study found is that plenty of risk information is available in Myanmar, but feasibility of FbA initiatives may vary by state and township. During the group session, government liaison and a smooth coordination between all development partners involved were noted as key success factors.
