Nobody there to talk to, nobody there to help. This is a sad reality for many old people around the world. In Ireland, an organization has made it its mission to bring old people out of their loneliness: ALONE. It provides practical support and coordinates services for older people to find a solution for their everyday challenges.
The volunteers of ALONE offer hundreds of old people across Ireland, who are homeless, socially isolated, living in deprivation or in crisis, a helping hand and an open ear for their worries.
ALONE’s support & befriending service provides companionship to elderly people who would like extra social contact through a weekly volunteer visit or telephone call. In this way, many friendships have been created.
