Fred Orimba, Kenya Red Cross, explains that in cooperation with the government “Lift the Families” programme, the Kenya Red Cross worked with the programme registration data, verified that the recipient list was proper and expanded the list where necessary to expand the reach of the programme. The opposite is also true, people are removed from the registry who no longer need the support or where people have moved or do not actually exist. The idea is to ‘build back better’ by contributing positively to an existing system which offers ongoing sustainability.
