Collaboration with the energy sector

10:36
28.10.2020
Patricia Nying'uro explains that Kenya Met is working directly with the energy sector, through an MoU to provide forecast supplementary information to plan their energy activities. This allows the energy sector to warn communities downstream of their dams to safeguard lives and property. They are also working closely with the Kenya Red Cross to tailor forecast information to their specific needs, and they use their knowledge on community vulnerability and exposure. These are great examples of collaboration with different users and co-production of knowledge.

We used to provide information and hope recipients are able to interpret it -  now we are identifying the user needs and tailoring the information to suit their specific needs. Patricia Nying'uro (Kenya MetOffice) 10:28
