Urbanisation is the topic of the day - and the special risks of such areas. Massive urbanisaton started about 1950, today especially in Asia, but also more and more in Europe. In 2050 about 15% of the global population will live in mega cities. Dhaka for example will grow from about 1.5 million people to 20,9 million in 2025.
Urbanisation often happens unregulated and in many dimensions. One of the Sustainable Development Goals is the goal to make cities safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable. Pollution, slums and urban sprawl are just some of the challenges here.
