For our work and our perception on disaster risk reduction, it's really important to underline, that the context that we are working in and the topic that we are dealing with has become much more difficult and much more complex. If you see the number of countries that are facing fragility: It has risen. Not only the number has risen, but also the complexity of conflicts and the duration of those. Therefore it's important to follow a holistic multi-hazard-approach.  Martin Schuldes - Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development 09:23

Schuldes looks for an holistic approach to disaster risk management: "It is important to raise topics about disaster response in all sectors." The thinking about disaster risk management has to be done daily, so he recommends more time and more funding to do research about the context of the problems.

Hanna talks about the structures within the projects and the focus on the individual. What happens on the Nexus side? "It takes time to trickle down into the operational side and to become mainstream", explains Hanna. But the efforts of the coordination also become more and more visible. This takes time, but there is a lot of progress to be seen.
