Ashoka is a network of social entrepreneurs. Examples? Matthias Scheffelmeier (Partner) tells more about some of their projetcs:
  • blind women being trained in detecting breast cancer - because of their special abilities
  • babys as teachers in school - with a proven effect in minmizing bullying by teachig empathy
  • an entrepreneur using Coca-Cola-delivieries to deliver also life-saving medicine- because Coca-Cola is delivered everywhere, why not use this advantage to everyone?
Whoever has a good idea and wants to take part gets three years of funding and access to new markets. There is a huge networking base for support. "Come to our network", emphasizes Scheffelmeier, "it will bring a benefit to everybody. Our brains, our hearts make this project bigger and bigger - and the world a better place."

The Paris based ride-sharing company is already a veteran here at the NOAH.
Casual drives share the empty seats on long journeys with passengers going in the same directions and thereby splitting the costs. The community has over 75million members and operates in almost every European country, Russia and Brazil. And in each of the market the company is the no.1, as Philippe Cayrol (VP Corporate and Business Development) is proud to mention. In doing so, BlaBlaCar saves up to 1.6million tons of CO2 per year.

The Ridesharing company is now creating a new bus service, called BlaBlaBus.
in Western Europe BlaBlacar made an offer to buy Ouibus and created a new brand. In doing so BlaBlaCar can now operate in two complimentary markets: E.g. for journeys planned long time ahead BlaBlaBus could be an additional option and attract new customers. The plan is to have 400 destinations in Europe by the end of 2019.

In other regions such as Russia BlaBlaBus tries to lead the offline to online transition in the bus travel industry. In Q1 2019 alone BlaBlaBus added 113 operators in Russia to their network.
