New LITEFORCE Contact Technology for the wiring harness of the future

16:05
26.03.2019
Our next presentation is given by Dr. Frank Ostendorf (Senior Manager Advanced Terminal & Connectors, Materials) from TE CONNECTIVITY.

Dr. Ostendorf introduces the LITEFORCE system which aims to reduce the mating force.
The system has an innovative contact geometry for receptacle terminals and comes in two options: One that reduces the mating forces while maintaining the current carrying capacity and a second version that keeps the mating force on the existing level while increasing the current carrying capacity and the vibration resistance.

As advantages of a reduction of mating forces, Dr. Ostendorf names the lower contact spring forces, less abrasion, high pin count connectors and a flat spring characteristic curve.

The LITEFORCE technology with the first model can reduce insertion forces up to 52% and the second model offers up to 26% more current carrying with an additional benefit for the resistance class (+1).
