His topic is the highspeed data transmission via an ethernet network – a requirement for future vehicles.

But why do future vehicles need a highspeed network?
Wiesmayer points out two developments who are the main driver:
1. Autonomous driving which requires the autonomous vehicles to gather and transport huge amounts of data collected by multiple sensors and cameras.
2. The onboard infotainment.
