Motivation for the Team

It is important that you stay "real", emphasizes Urs Meier. Some strong people are called "merkwürdig" in German ("strange") - if you turn the words, its "würdig" ("worthy") and "merk" ("remember"). If you stand out, it makes you memorable and more important, instead of staying in the group.

And something else is important: motivation and mental energy. That is especially important for building teams - and in the end teams win the title, not single players. OK, sometimes, like in the case of the football player winning for his team in the last minute by running across the whole field - but he did for his team, and that's the important point.

Working under Pressure

But Urs Meier defends his decision, and he adds: "No decision is a decision as well. We are not only responsible for what we are doing, as well we are responsible for what we are not to do!" Often "Rudelbildung", clustering with others, is easier than to stand out and being able to work under pressure. At the same time, some trainers like Jürgen Klinsmann manage to stay integer.
