The company started in 1996 by turning computers into music instruments with software. In 2001 Traktor was the world’s professional DJ software. Three years later the company went on to build a bunch of hardware to steer the software. In January this year, the company started a marketplace for samples, based on a subscription model.
It really is offering an ecosystem for musicians and creatives.
In order to continue fuel the growth, the company has raised over €50m of investment last year.
Marco Rodzynke asks: „So since you already own the music creation, isn’t it logical to also offer a distribution model for creator, such as spotify does?“
Daniel Haver leaves the answer open but adds: „I have no doubt that in a few years from now there will be players how want to offer everything from the music creation until the distribution.“
