Asked about the role of artificial intelligence, Vora answers: „This is where the magic lies and what makes me really excited. If you can use the learning of experts and build that into the machines, you get a really scalable business.“

Ravi Vora is the CEO of Catawiki and is now chatting with Michiel Kotting from Northwest.
Before working at Catawiki, Vora worked at „Flipkart“ – known as the amazon of India.
Kotting’s first question: „What were your lessons learned from there?“
Vora’s answer: „First it was the purity of the intent of the founders – they were in it for the long run. Second it was their focus on technology from day one and third getting the right people and keeping the bar high for new hires“.
Joining Catawiki, Ravi Vora originally worked as a marketing manager and worked his way up. Asked about the strategic approach he answers: „If you start a strategic plan dominated by numbers you’re most likely to fail.“ He rather recommends to plan steps, execute them and then later gather granular data and measure the success.
