Tim Walz, Governor of Minnesota, thanks all the participants and sets out clear expectations for progressive politics. He warns against paramilitary violence in communities, citing the example of ICE in the US, and slams the US administration for starting a war in Iran without clear objectives or an exit strategy. He speaks of a “pandemic” of mistrust, misinformation and growing inequality that is undermining people’s trust in the state. So progressive politics has a responsibility to convey a crystal clear, credible image of government and to offer a genuine alternative. -nk
