US Senator Chris Murphy launched a scathing attack on the US government, calling it “the most corrupt” in the nation’s history. Division and corruption are paralysing society, he says, but there are mass protests as millions of people voice their discontent. Murphy calls on progressives worldwide to unite: right-wing movements are also networking, so progressives must likewise share lessons and cooperate. He emphasises that Trump is symptomatic of deeper problems within capitalism. The aim must be to break corporate power and systematically combat corruption, he says.
