SPD Chair Lars Klingbeil calls on listeners to adopt a common progressive policy in times of war and globalisation. The aim is prosperity for all and the defence of shared values: solidarity, diplomacy and peace rather than escalation, he says. There is much to be done. International law must not be undermined; Putin must end the war in Ukraine. Europe must become more resilient and independent and build stronger partnerships with the Global South. At the same time, Klingbeil warns of the power of tech oligarchs, whose business model is often based on fear, and calls on us to actively defend democracy.
