But above all, the focus here in Barcelona is on the future and on progressive solutions to these issues. Many governments are showing the way forward with their responsible and successful politics. Take Spain, led by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. The progressive camp aims to offer more compelling ideas than right-wing authoritarian populists and prioritizes cooperation rather than confrontation. Particularly now, as polarization grows, the emphasis is on strengthening social cohesion.
