Over 4,000 participants from more than 40 countries have come here to Barcelona, with the aim of uniting progressive forces from around the globe, in the first event of its kind. That makes for tremendous linguistic diversity here in Hall 8 of Fira Barcelona and our discussions are warm and lively. But the upbeat mood here on the ground should not detract from the seriousness of the situation. German Social Democratic Party leader Lars Klingbeil told Vorwärts magazine, “The global right has long been internationally networked – the GPM is countering this through progressive, international cooperation.” -fw
