Our next speaker is Dara Khosrowshahi. He’s the CEO of UBER and now interviewed by Christoph Keese from hy (Axel Springer).
Dara brings up an ebike to the stage. It’s a bike from the bike sharing company JUMP that UBER has just acquired. Dara explains why: „Because ebikes are so easy to use, the average trip in the United States with a JUMP bike is 4km long. But also 40-70% of Uber trips are under 4km. So, this is a potential replacement for a lot of UBER trips.“
He continues:
"Cars are to us what books were to amazon We want to be the platform where you come to, if you want to get from point A to point B."
When it comes to the current trending topic Artificial Intelligence Dr. Döpfner states: "We need more AI industries in Europe.”
At Axel Springer, robot journalism already is used for doing sports report
"This offers us the possibility to e.g. cover matches from lower soccer leagues where we can't send our journalists".
Thus, robot journalism is not making the chances for real journalists smaller, but even stabilizing them.
