The session introduced the Water at Heart of Climate Action consortium, a collaboration of NLRC, IFRC, the Climate Centre, SOFF, UNDRR, and WMO. This initiative focuses on reducing climate vulnerability in Ethiopia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda through community-centered Early Warning Systems (EWS). It connects actors at national and local levels, ensuring coherence across global, regional, and local systems. The session discussed how local and national plans are essential for achieving the Early Warning for All initiative's goals and the program's role in climate change and disaster risk reduction. An update on the program's progress and future expansion was also shared.
