#courage
Having finished the working week in Thessaloniki, one of diconium's values was about to be put into an activity for us: #courage. So we went canyoning on Mount Olympus, which was approximately one hour drive away from Thessaloniki. This was really fun, especially because we climbed, hiked and dived in the freezing cold water flowing directly down from the mountain peak - which was great considering that outside temperature at this day was 32°C. Our highlight was definitely the 8 meter jump into one of the natural mountain pools which indeed needed some courage. Also cool, after two years of social distancing: we were in a small group of 5 people from different countries plus two guides.

One of the others being in our canyoning group was H (as we call need to call him here) and as we strayed into conversation on our way to Olympus, exchanging the reasons we are in Greece and getting to know each other - it was clear that H for me he brought #workingfromeverywhere to a next level -WHY? Let me explain. Generally, he does the same as we do: working from everywhere BUT with a little extra challenge, being in a whole different time zone, from California (US) to Greece. But even there you see: It works perfectly. Being employed at a big US tech company, H exploits the full flexibility and trust he's been given by his employer and perfectly balances work and life while discovering Europe, doing sightseeing and exploring throughout the day and starting his work day at around 5pm in the afternoon, Central European Time. His enthusiasm and drive for the working model he lives were absolutely palpable. The USA is not exactly known for offering many vacation days a year, but having such a kind of opportunity definitely compensates for this, he said. When I asked H regarding the challenges he's facing, the answer came really quickly: 'None really - I'm just normally doing my job and going after my favourite hobby: travelling.' - I think this is so cool! Additionally, it was funny to see that H and us, we nearly had the same travel itinerary the past 5 weeks by coincidence - that's how small the world can be.

Lastly: the best thing now that we are in Greece: We do not need to make up or minds about going punctually out for food 'cause in Greece you'll easily get to eat in restaurants even after 11pm and as we are used to rather this schedule than to 'the kitchen closes at 9pm' we are luckily happy to now chill and enjoy eating out and having drinks whenever we like without hurrying up! #greecelove
