Maya and Walter's estate has a huge backyard with multiple fruit trees and a vegetable garden where we stocked up on our fruits and veggie provision for the entire week. Even their chickens are enjoying their chicken retirement as they're not laying any eggs anymore.
Surprisingly, the area around Santarém also offers another bird species their temporary home: storks. If you pay attention, you'll find their nests everywhere! With so many different role models at hand, it's so tempting to follow their example in the future and come back next year to escape the German winter freeze.. Who's with me ;)?!
