The week in Paris passed by quickly. On Sunday morning we packed all our belongings and carried everything to the garage where the DriveYourLife van was already waiting for us. Our next destination: Montpellier.

Theresa was taking over most of the 8h drive while I was mainly trying to get some rest. On our way, we learned the ins and outs of driving the van through France - sometimes with the help of strangers. For example, charging our hybrid vehicle wasn’t as straightforward as we thought and at one point accidentally ended someone else's charging session early. The owners of the other car most likely received some notification, as they happen to come by and tell us about our mishap - So sorry, we know better now ;)!

When we arrived in Montpellier late in the evening, we couldn't navigate to our Airbnb on the first go as it was located quite rurally with a weak GPS connection. Still, we managed to get there somehow, and were warmly welcomed by our hostess Florence who then walked us around the impressive property. She and her husband designed and built up an oasis with everything the average person dreams of at night - a bbq area, a huge pool with lots of sunbeds, workshop rooms, a boules ground, and many more hidden gems. These two are the epitome of great willpower and dedication - such a power team!

[Theresa] On our way out of Paris, we unintentionally hit the dumpster diving jackpot! As we were throwing out our trash for the week before, we found a large bag of perfectly good food, including tons of unopened pasta, crackers, and trail mix. We were determined to make something amazing out of our treasure. We threw everything together and made a noodle soup from scratch and a salad on the side. The environmentalist in me was happy to think we had a net neutral impact on any of the 230 landfills in France that week. Unfun fact of the week: France produces 37.9 million tons of household trash per year! (That is equivalent to the weight of about 8,000 semi trucks per day!)
