The Quantum magic

Currently, the quality of Quantum information is improving more and more. Quantum computers are built for difficult problems. They focus on topics like nature, finance, optimization or machine learning. "We always look for the pain points", explains Riel, "and then we try to solve them." The process itself? It starts with a classical computer, but then it goes to the Quantum bits – and after they “did their magic” the results go back to the other computers. This creates endless new possibilities.

The Quantum risk is, that the impact is in the future, but the problem is now. " for that we need new cryptography - and we need to transition to new cryptography." A lot of work is being done right now, to make it faster and safer. Especially safer cryptography, this has to be implemented as soon as possible. Inspired by Riel's speech? One corn of rice turning into billions

Improving fertilizer or creating new catalysts for CO2-redcution  – they all need more precise information. How can Quantum Computing help here? Using classical bits, you use 1 and 0, and you use either 1 or 0. But with Quantum bits, every bit can be either 1 or 0, meaning that every bit can be both. Qubit's are special because of the superposition, which can be an arbitrary point on the Bloch sphere.

A king offered a wish to a scientist. He wished a corn of rice for the first field of a chess game, for the next one two and so on. This is not much in the beginning – but 461 billion metric tons of rice in the end. Here lies the power of Quantum, too. 2 to the power of n is the secret behind Quantum, there are exponential possibilities of its information.
