Going electrical means having three times more versions

A conventional Merceds car already has 2,250 configuration variants (without considering custom orders), explains Dr. Neckenich Reasons are different steering types, different voltages, driving units and regional versions.

For an electrical car, the different battery and charging types add even more. Dr. Neckenich calculates with 7,560 versions – three times more than a conventional car.

„This increased complexity within the wiring harness makes 2D models obsolete.“ With KBL 2.4 three dimensional wiring harness planning is possible.
