Reaching the last mile has been interesting while facilitating EWEA. Working in intricate locations with huge populations like Nigeria poses numerous challenges especially when engaging with communities and issues like availability, accessibility and attainability.
These are important in ensuring that those communities are adequately reached.

Technically there are still shortcomings with regards to reaching the last mile: we are making a lot of progress on the ICT side (ICT = information and communication technologies), but it is still the weaker link when we talk about the last mile of Early Warning Early Action. It is still a challenge to reach people in rural and remote areas despite the availability of for example mobile phones.
