“We need to design readiness activities such as training communities and raising awareness among the most vulnerable and at-risk households. In cyclone-prone areas like Mozambique with flooding events, we make sure that early actions align with  operational strengths, for example,  we target the WASH and shelter sectors for early action. In a 3-days timeframe, we distributed WASH kits, materials for households to protect their valuable documents as well as support evacuation,” says Anna Lena Huhn, Regional FbF Delegate Southern Africa, German Red Cross.
