Julia Wittig, Associate Humanitarian Affairs Officer OCHA, explained that in Bangladesh the CERF fund provided 5 million dollars to support 220,000 people with cash, food storage and dignity kits after triggers were reached 10 days and 5 days prior to the flood impact. The pilot was successful in increasing the number of partners involved, increasing the amount of funding available and the number of people reached. She further explained that to scale up we need transparent conversations, commitment to learning and evaluating the effectiveness of anticipatory action for the beneficiaries on the ground.
