Averting Disasters through Risk Communication and Health Promotion
Presentation 1 will share how the outcome of the Dengue risk analysis was used to sensitise relevant agencies to respond ahead of the Dengue season. It will also highlight how this small project helped government agencies in reducing the number of dengue cases as a result of the intervention.
Presentation 2 will share the findings of the knowledge, awareness and practice (KAP) survey conducted after a risk communication intervention was implemented to prepare urban residents from the impact of a forecasted heatwave in Karachi.
Presentation 3 will discuss the heatwave and cold wave testing results in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan and the effectiveness of these early actions under a health context.
