The necessary time of early actions was identified to be started by Mid of March (considering 45 days before the prevalence gets its momentum) or even earlier depending on the efficiency of the awareness campaign .
This lead to some innovative actions taking place:
Patient centric approach, social media awareness and partnership with media.
o A web-based data collection method was developed where trained volunteers became a part of a surveillance system by providing real time data
o The city corporation authority and public-private healthcare centers exchanged information of Dengue-positive patients to control community level transmission
